Q: How much does a new roof cost?
A: There are many variables at play, not the least of which is “how large is your home or business?” You will also have a choice between roofing materials, warranties, etc. We always recommend getting a couple of quotes to determine a baseline. You can also speak with your friends and neighbors that have had their roofs recently replaced.
Q: I have received a few quotes and they vary greatly. Why is that?
A: Like most any business, roofing contractors will range greatly in price depending on their business model. They longer they’ve been around, the better they pay their employees, the higher their quality of work will all help determine their pricing structure. Regardless of which company you choose, be sure to hire a roofing contractor that is experienced in the Boise area, and is based in this area. This is important if you have an issue after the project is complete.
Q: How long will it take to replace my roof?
A: There are several elements at play here as well. Again, how large is your home? How difficult will the project be (is there an extreme slope on the roof)? What time of year are you having the work done? Extreme temperatures limit the amount of time our crews can work, both hot and cold. A reputable roofing company will keep you abreast of the project timelines throughout the job. You should also have a good idea of project length prior to starting. There is always a chance that the crew may find an unforeseen issue while on the job as well, i.e., structural damage that was not apparent until the roofing material was removed.
Q: Can I stay in my home or my business while the roof is being replaced?
A: The easy answer is YES. However, it depends on “noise tolerant” you are. As you might guess, replacing a roof can be quite loud for those inside!
